- A Mouthful of Air: Language, Languages...Especially English. Anthony Burgess (1993). Favorably reviewed in the Times. Non-fiction, but it's about stuff we care about, I think.
- Arcadia: A Play by Tom Stoppard. Saw it at the Wilma some years ago. Wonderfully complex; I've since wanted to read it. Again, the Times review.
- More, as I think of them

We'll see if there's any interest in posting suggested future reads and links. I'll give it a start. Note, the NYTimes archive became free over the last couple of days.

Not that I have any right to be offering suggestions, given my own less than sporadic attendance, but (in no particular order):
Richard Powers. The Echo Maker.
T. Cooper. Lipshitz Six, or Two Angry Blondes.
David Edmonds and John Eidinow. Wittgenstein's Poker: The Story of a Ten-Minute Argument Between Two Great Philosophers
Richard Ford. The Lay of the Land.
